I agree with the need for reliable information on voip providers and would love to see something along the lines of www.dslreports.com reviews section used to collect and filter reviews by location and maybe even ISP. I know that my experiences with vitelity have been mixed based on ISP's in the same town. But I have not seen anyone jump out there and offer anything that sophisticated.

I think this it would show a BAD trend that VoIP is getting bad PR do to the date of Nov 2005 that you pointed out.
And this would show a higher need for more information about VoIP providers
