I meant countries, not companies

I also forgot to mention there are some cultural differences, ireland
for example the average person on the street thinks its a 'scam' to
use gprs to send an sms via a webpage (where carriers give you free
TXTs each month) simply because you are sending the message cheaper
(the bits required for a web sms is less than the cost of sending a
normal sms with most carriers there). As a result they think its
criminal and somehow illegal to do this, only because the carrier isnt
getting the full charge they demand to send a text. That is quite
silly but its a cultural thing. Similar cultural issues probably also
influence VoIP adoption - not for the same reasons, but because the
culture is 'do X then Y then Z' those indoctrinated into that mindset
are likely to not want to change it easily.
