[asterisk-biz] Setting up Asterisk conf room per channel on DID

Hello,
I am looking for a few pointers to setup asterisk conf room.
User A calls a local DID #, User B calls a local DID # and they are in the conf room. Our system knows caller IDs for both of these users (fixed). Assuing these DID's have 2 channels each, could it be possible to use both the channels on these DIDs, so User C and User D could be in another conf room with the same DID's but using the remaining channel?
Any pointers, any feedback is welcome.
Thanks

[asterisk-biz] encrypted pstn calls

I have written some windows mobile software (used on my HTC phone) which
will encrypt phone calls (the underlying mobile network should not
matter, but its known to work with GSM).

I do not know if anyone is interested in this, or more specifically in
supporting additional platforms. For example, an iphone port, an
android port, a server side module, or something else

The software lets you make gsm<->gsm calls and send text messages
encrypted. In addition if I write server side software, you can do this
to gsm<->[asterisk|freeswitch|maybe something else]. This way a call
to/from a mobile would be encrypted, and could be encrypted via SRTP/TLS
to the handset itself.

The use of crypto is optional on a per call basis, which means that you
can still send/receive calls from unencrypted phones.

This might be ideal for those who need HIPPA compliance for medical
information, or for people in the financial community, or just for
people who want to keep what is said private from prying ears (its not
that difficult to monitor GSM calls, there is even an active multi-year
old project using gnu radio and other tools to do just that, A5 the GSM
cipher has many weaknesses, and there are even rainbow tables making it
as simple as a lookup for the key).

If anyone is interested in sponsoring this software email me privately
and we can discuss this further. I am open to licensing this for resale
as well.

there is nothing that can be done about that, unless the answering end
supports crypto too. I still think its easier to monitor VoIP calls
since that can be done from almost anywhere on the intarweb (although do
it in the wrong spot and it becomes quite noticable). PSTN *generally*
requires physical access limiting the ones who can do this somewhat.

> Still... is very nice to see someone providing ZRTP services. Would like
> to see more of that in the future.

yeah, and to be crypto agnostic like that, both SRTP/TLS and ZRTP is a
nice bonus. Ensures that more people can use it, although the way that
ZRTP works, it becomes harder to validate the cipher since you cant
compare the codes each end provides. If you use a mechanical voice or a
sip im it becomes trivial to spoof the challenge/response codes, it
relies on humans speaking and listening to share the codes to validate.

Because you cant validate the cipher I cannot say that you can trust
ZRTP in this implementation, but then it was not designed to be on a
server side, this is where TLS can be handy. However SRTP/TLS is
designed to be server side but not as dynamic nor forget everything
about the session making key recovery impossible (the cert is still
there), something ZRTP is designed for.

ZRTP is more of an end to end human to human implementation, so for
things where the server has to be in the middle SRTP/TLS is certainly
superior.

It's also too bad that once your phone call heads to the PSTN, any form
of encryption becomes functionally worthless. It's INCREDIBLY easy to
tap into, trace, and catalogue a PSTN phone call.

Still... is very nice to see someone providing ZRTP services. Would like
to see more of that in the future.

too bad TLS requires TCP and asterisk default doesnt do that, although
rumors are that there have been SRTP/TLS patches for quite some time,
they just never made it into trunk. Its nice to see that people are
starting to engage in crypto for calls though.

This pretty much explains WHY my LoA has been rejected with a lame

Thanks. The original number is from AT&T, ported 4 years ago into Nufone
and them ported into Asterlink - when NuFone went out of business for
the first time.

The number listed for resporg jft01 is ringing but not answering. Susan
used to work for J2 Global Communications. This number is like a "fools
number", used to receive calls that will never be answered.

I was able to call J2 main office and I was then told to talk to
Airspring @ 888-899-2789, who is now the company responsible for my
number. After calling them, they told me they are not the provider, and
transfered me back to J2.

I guess my number is M.I.A....

As Asterlink is now dead (telephone 877-278-7565 is in auto-answer, no
email reply), I tried to move my number away from them.

The request has been rejected with an "invalid signature" excuse.

How can I retrieve my number? As the company is dead/no longer in
business, who should I contact?

[asterisk-biz] Alison Keenan (free British English voice)

Hi Folks,

I have a few folks whom are interested in another recording session with
Alison Keenan but don't have enough work to justify her visit to the
studio.

If there's anyone whom would like her to do some work but hasn't got
around to it yet now might be the time. We need enough work to fill an
hour of her time. So far we have about 25 minutes.

Le me know off list.

Thanks

Acai Berry , Lose wieght feel great

Losing wieht does not have to be tough , Introducing Acai Berry

Your golden watch will never let you be late.

hard to find only a little ive met some truly kindred spirits in my life so far especially my two nicoles (well coco i not so much met as i was born to the same parents) i love them girls and their cute purses
where are neighborhoods like that anymore with bushes big enough to hide in and kids that go around the block together all afternoon and normal sized houses and the old winkfields next door ok i dont need the winkfields but id sure love to give my kids the rest
i never thought life would then take me to utah to attend byu and then off to serve as a missionary for a year and a half but it did and it was hardest most surprising most rewarding experience of my life
guess what i finally put in the shop
grant and i talked last fall about wanting to take control and own a home and make some of our dreams a reality so we planned to move back to california for some opportunities there
i think they are so cute i love her litte handwriting and she is beyond excited to pass them out some other projects she and i looked at but didnt get around to (of course) from martha (of course)
all day the kids hung out at that corner played on that grass got drinks out of that hose went through the secret passage way in the juniper bushes and only left the area to go around the block over and over again sometimes it was on bikes with banana seats sometimes roller skates sometimes big wheels sometimes walking even occasionally on skateboards with cardboard boxes on them (our cars)
with that heres the stuff i eat salad with chicken a different salad with chicken repeat repeat this is the hard thing about it not a ton of delicious options im kind of kidding ive found a few other yummy things too
more earrings get yours here
ready to share the love
just a phone call one night she had an aneurysm and although this was a surprise of the worst kind it was the most spiritual time of my life much good and understanding has come through that loss
acre of land is my favorite song of his
(but honestly i dont snack alot when you eat so much protein you dont get hungry as often through the day)
and as ive been laying in my misery ive been thinking a lot about that penny and just how lonely id be if she wasnt there with me
messes are piling up around me making it hard to relax and get well i cant cuddle grant or cate- they need to stay well- so they are steering clear of me i am bored and tired and achy
refined sugar will be your enemy till you die
my problem dear anne is that it is 2009 kids dont like to get all fussied up anymore and i dont think they would go to the trouble of making up stories about lost broaches to be able to go to a silly church picnic in my mind the little girls are wearing spring dresses and holding parasols with their gloved hands while the boys are eating biscuits and drinking homemade rootbeer with their hats and suspenders on but i live in a dreamland where i want everything stylized i know you understand me anne
cate chose these pretty little traditional valentines cards from bunny cakes i love them
me 1982
snacks NUTS i would die without nuts i love roasted almonds cashews peanuts i also love those roasted edamame they taste like nuts even though theyre not and nuts taste really good with a few slices of swiss cheese also deli meat slices celery with peanut butter on it a few whole grain crackers with cheese beef jerky sugar free snack packs stuffed mushrooms hard boiled eggs string cheese protein bars crudites and more NUTS

Can be possible to have a non-distribution oriented build ? A 64 bits
monolitic build can be very util to many people, as no use of
Ubuntu/Gentoo/Debian.

As a example, I use ArchLinux 64 bits.

i love the comments i get from all of you.
i told cate about st. patrick's day and ireland- she has a lot of irish ancestors through me.
have you seen april's ms living yet?
have a happy st. patrick's day.
i recommend rounding your troops for a similar conversation, and a brainstorm session for how to prepare for what lies ahead. just sayin.
really, cate is also mexican, japanese, native american, swiss, and a lot more- a true american- so we actually have a lot of family history travelling to do, but i really love the romantic beauty of ireland, and have always been drawn to that part of the world. plus i really love corned beef.
haha, that's my girl.
like this one, from sweet mary, that she left on the clean room post: "Your house seems so organized.
doesn't she look like lucy from chronicles of narnia?
happy happy days.
the ms craft dept was featured in an article, and their personal crafting projects were shown.
i am not going to worry...about a thing.
4. i don't worry about a little "creative clutter" in cate's room. i say, a good dress up/ barbie mess day better than watching tv all afternoon, right? pretty soon i will just put my 'kerchief on again and go to town. (yes, that is what cate's room looks like again, just over a month after the big clean. i tell you, i'm fighting a losing battle with that girl). does that answer your question, mary? i hope it helps! wink.
really really happy.
i am blocking my two latest projects today and will show them tomorrow.
she'll be here friday and saturday april 3rd and 4th, and she'll be taking appointments for all day/ night both days at my house.
simple is always prettiest to me.
wooohoooo!"
and the fact that she's 31 makes me happy to be 31.

Time to give yourself an Edge over the other guys

Warning! Do not buy enhancement pills, they don't work!

Over the past few years the market has become swamped with imitation male enhancement pills, making it virtually impossible to know what is legitimate and what is fake!

The logical step that millions of men are taking is to switch over to the more effective and potent male enhancement Patches.

Millions of men are already applying male enhancement patches daily and watching their size and drive go through the roof! Patches deliver the product into your system in a quicker and more efficient manner than a pill ever could. They are also safer and more discrete, no need to awkwardly carry around a bottle of pills. Enlarge Patch Rx is simply the best patch you will find, anywhere!

Our Enlarge Patches are the most respected in the industry, the highest quality at the best price. As of yet no other patch has matched ours for pure potency and effectiveness, the results you see from using Enlarge Patch are unreal!

Here are just a few of the thousands of happy testimonials we receive every year;

""Hi, I have been using Enlarge Patch Rxfor one month. I could not believe my eyes after about a week of using the product because my flaccid length only grew a tremendous amount. I started slow since I did not know much about the exercises but once I retained some experience I began to introduce myself to the more advanced ones and that is when my penis started growing.
I can not thank Enlarge Patch Rx enough. So overall I started at about 6 inches in length and about 4 inches in girth, which is quite normal and now im 7 1/4 inches in length and 4 3/4 inches in girth. An entire inch in both length and girth in a matter of a month! If you want to have gains and keep them forever you have to try Enlarge Patch Rx, believe me you will not regret it!"

Robbie V. Texas

"I suppose my story won't be somewhat unusual to you. I'm a young man of 25 and I was completely frustrated about my small penis. I was so shy to show it to any of the girl I had relationship with that I basically had no sexual life at all. Enlarge Patch Rx patches did incredible thing to me. I was using them for 4 months and my penis is much more thicker and about 2.5 inches longer now. All my doubts are gone. I really appreciate what you're guys doing. Thanx for saving my life! "
Geoff R. Rhode Island

Re: [asterisk-biz] Zoiper communicator finally released for linux, need feedback :)

I don't know if it would, but in the mean time we added a jaunty build
as well, which should be a better idea :) you can find it here:
http://www.zoiper.com/zclinux.php

We will implement g722 in the coming weeks for sure, had too many
requests on amoocon to be able to ignore it :)

[asterisk-biz] License Issue with m-indya.com

Hi Guys,

does anybody on this list know the m-indya.com guys? They are using
FDL stuff from http://www.the-asterisk-book.com without mentioning the
licence nor the source. And of course they do not answer to our e-mails.

[asterisk-biz] Fwd: Asterisk CCM, CME Integration

Hi All,

please provide some help.

I'm just posting this questions to both forums as its related to both. In hope to get some help on below issue:

Asterisk 1.4.x
CCM = 4.x
CME = 4.x
codec = g711ulaw

Here is my setup:

600X Phones ----> Asterisk ---- SIP Trunk ----> Call Manager -----> CME -----> 461X Phones

461X Phones ----> CME -----> my dial peer points to Asterisk IP for 600X Phones

so in the above setup I'm able to call from Asterisk to my CME and vice-versa.

here is my problem: when I call from 6004 to my cme extension 4615, on 4615 I've configured noans timeout to 15 and then it goes to my unity express (cue) for voicemail so when I call my cme extension it rings for few seconds and then on my asterisk cli I see "500 Internal Server Error" back from my CCM IP and getting standard asterisk message saying "all circuits are busy now" . as per my understanding it should go to my cue.

please advise and let me know if you need any other details.

Regards
Arun

Re: [asterisk-biz] Mobile extensions from Asterisk - HLR registration?

Hi all,

Interesting thread that I might be able to assist with, for as some will
know I acquired a uk gsm licence and thus the regulatory elements, gsma
membership etc that enabled access to the roaming world with the
necessary ss7 map elements including vlr etc - it will be a couple more
months to complete a meaningful roaming foot print for the US, but I'm
pleased to announce that I've finally got commercial service up in part
of London here in the UK', including signalling connections with the
bigger ss7 world. I have been an enthusiast of asterisk and ss7asterisk
for a while now, so pretty easy to offer SIP interconnect, I've yet to
fully work out how to open up the sms signalling, perhaps some api
development is still needed, however what would be useful is input on
the size of the potential niche and thoughts on what service/s would be
worthwhile bearing in mind the higher voice roaming rates (always higher
with international roaming with domestic roaming much harder to
achieve). Sms is potentially very different with only a very small
number of mno's operating other than a bill and keep model.

Regards
Magnus

Your refine look doesn't have to depend on your finances.

i had a really tumultuous teenager-hood i was a happy and smart little kid it was surprising when so much angst welled up inside me
we lived on a corner in a typical oc tract neighborhood
when cate is too scared to go downstairs penny will go with her and everything is all right she lets cate dress her up for weddings or try to ride her or pull her by the tail almost daily and even knowing the torture she will soon endure she gets so excited when cate gets home from school
and i think im done cutting kits for a while
like this one for instance my older brother uploaded it while reminiscing about the old buggie he rebuilt in the 80s
and as ive been laying in my misery ive been thinking a lot about that penny and just how lonely id be if she wasnt there with me
me um we didnt have computers in our homes then
project 31 is rolling along i have donations for every single item i need for the 31 newborn kits and lots of fabric donations and i will sew until there are 31 baby quilts too thank you SO much i was overwhelmed by the awesome response packages are starting to arrive i will be sure to post some pictures when i get it all together and ready to take to the humanitarian center my heart is happy
me 1982
at 18 i planned to live the tahoe hippie life forever one day i felt compelled i knew it i just had to leave i packed up my car and moved to the central coast
what do you look for in a best friend
all kits are shipped phew
but let me tell you thats not how it will really go i imagine most kids will want to stay home and play computer games but their moms will make them come and so theyll grudgingly put on a some church pants and skirts so i was wondering if you could help me know how to bring the romance back into our modern life its not really that important no matter the dress or the menu we just want the kids to come to feel the spirit of the temple but its like you said anne when you dont use your imagination to make life beautiful how much you miss
secondly i must say i know carbohydrates arent bad i know bread is life and wheat is the staff of life a lot of fruits and veggies are quite sugary/ starchy for almost everyone eating all these foods in moderation will do them fine but remember i am trying to regulate an abnormality to a diabetic sugar is the devil to someone with celiac disease wheat is the devil to someone with milk allergies dairy is the devel and what ive come to believe that for some women who dont ovulate high blood sugar may be their devil and it definately is mine
from toast
but we feel more blessed and amazed than ever at lifes unexpected twists and turns and how happy we are that there is a loving heavenly father that understands the little picture we have in our minds for our lives and gently and lovingly helps us change our vision to a masterpiece i really love life
let me preface this by saying that there is no one size fits all eating plan for someone with hormonal issues for some women cysts irregular cycles lack of ovulation and too much testosterone and its effects are directly related to bad insulin regulation in their body for these women they may be able to restore better regularity with avoiding blood sugar spikes by not eating carbohydrates therefore eliminating the insulin problem that is why so many women can conceive with metformin or glucophage because these medicines work at that level
i went to the fabric store tonight in search of prints to make some new spring scarves with some will probably end up in the shop too i just love this look also i love toast (the catalog and the cooked bread)
snacks NUTS i would die without nuts i love roasted almonds cashews peanuts i also love those roasted edamame they taste like nuts even though theyre not and nuts taste really good with a few slices of swiss cheese also deli meat slices celery with peanut butter on it a few whole grain crackers with cheese beef jerky sugar free snack packs stuffed mushrooms hard boiled eggs string cheese protein bars crudites and more NUTS
she didnt want to print off her name- signing was a must

presumably because its a GSM gateway, and he wants the raw data from the
radio board so that the device itself doesnt transcode, and he can then
only transcode 1 time instead of potentially gsm->g.711->g.729 which
will cause some additional audio distortions vs gsm->g.729 (in both I
omitted the signed linear stages thinking its implied but someone
somewhere will say something if I dont mention it).

there is a potential problem with this. GSM6.10 is all asterisk does,
there is the GSM-AMR (adaptive multirate, as opposed to the fixed rate
6.10 does) is patented and afaik there is no patent license or codec to
do the AMR parts. as a result if it just did passthrough it would have
to specifically not support AMR, and getting that info may be somewhat
difficult as marketing monkeys wouldnt understand what you are asking -
but it would be osmething to look for if you got one.

Re: [asterisk-biz] DID provider

In hiding the carrier you to business with is just silly in my opinion.
Basically what your saying is I know something you don't and I won't tell
you what it is.
If this is the only method you have of protecting your business or keeping
your customers as yours then you won't be around long after your customers
get some education under their belt.

Oooooooh, that'd be awful! (I love ya Alex, but really?) One might be
able to determine if L3 or Paetec or Verizon is the underlying carrier,
and then what? Go around the 3rd party provider and buy direct? NOT buy
the number because you hate the underlying carrier?

I'm not saying providers should publish their providers publically, but
NOT showing the number because you might:

1. Find out the provider
2. ...
3. Profit!

is silly.

I've held the belief that that providers don't show the numbers so that a
number you want doesn't disappear when you are trying to order it. I
don't mind the number disappearing -- it's first come, first served.
However, I am able to sell more numbers if I know what the number is
before hand because people get 'attached' to numbers when they know what
it will be, and THEY don't want to lose the number they've come to love.

I'm fine if a company only shows you the number after you sign a contract
or something, but NOT showing the numbers before you buy so you don't find
out who THEY are buying from seems pretty silly, if true.

Re: [asterisk-biz] DID provider

Yo Pete!

I didn't say it was a _good_ reason! Just that that's their reasoning.
You are completely correct, there's nothing worth hiding and the whole
question isn't really interesting.

But, as you know with businesspeople, many of them - especially ones
trying to game relatively unsophisticated little backwoods cottage
industries - often like to imagine themselves to have something of
immense value, if for no other reason than self-esteem. So, the
underlying carrier of an ITSP becomes a critically important "trade
secret" and, we should be ever-vigilant about "espionage."

Re: [asterisk-biz] DID provider

One reason this is not done by origination providers at the pre-ordering
and/or pre-NDA stage is because revealing available numbers would let
any curious person do LNP dips and/or check pooling info and figure out
the underlying carriers.
